A New Heaven and a New Earth.

We saw that God destroyed the original earth many years after creating it, because the humans He created rebelled against His guidelines concerning how to live a healthy, happy and holy life.  Lucifer, called satan, the devil, succeeded in causing mankind to choose to rebel and disobey God, and disobedience to God, the life-giver, ultimately brings death. In order to preserve righteousness and the righteous in a rebellious earth God had to remove or destroy the wicked.  This destruction of the earth stood as a warning to future generations that wickednesss and rebellion will not succeed, but righteousness and the righteous will live forever, see Jude 1:14, 15. Let’s see how God describes this future new earth.

1. 2 Pet. 3:13. All godly people from righteous Adam to today looked, and are looking forward to a renewed earth.

2. Isa. 35:1-10 The prophet Isaiah gives a very beautiful account of the New Earth.

3. Isa. 65:17-25 The prophet goes into quite some detail in describing the New Earth. It’s going to be beautiful!

4. Rev. 21:1-5 is one of my favourite texts. I can hardly wait to be there.

5.  Isa. 64:4; 1Cor. 2:9 Both these texts paint a most wonderful picture of the unlimited variety and happiness that God has prepared in the New Earth for those who love Him.  Oh, my friends, please accept Jesus in your life, and together we will all be there.

6. Rev. 22:1-5 There in heaven and the New Earth all the redeemed nations of people will be perfectly healed of every disease and dis-ease. As they say in Swedish, every thing will kommer att vara mycket bra=everything will be very good!

7.  Rev. 11:15 This text tells us that at the sounding of the 7th. trumpet the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and He will reign forever and ever, and in righteousness of course! Won’t that be so wonderful? As they say in Portuguese, sim, venha logo senhor Deus! =Yes, come soon Lord. 

8. Mat. 5:5 The New Earth will be for the meek only, those who are loving and kind. And this is what God is doing in us now.

9. 2 Tim. 4:7 Paul tells us exactly when this marvelous event will be, at the second coming of Jesus for His people! Oh my friend, you must be ready!

10. Eze. 33:11. Imagine God pleading with His children, His creation, “please turn to me and live! For why will you die?” I am hoping you will make the right decision for God and for eternity. In my wife’s language, Danish, they say: Vi ses der!=See you there!
