God and Destruction
1. While God is merciful, he has to destroy evil and evil doers who reject his pardon. Eze. 18:31; Eze. 33:11.
2. God destroys evil to preserve the good. Gen. 6:7-9.
3. God often destroyed the heathen to protect his people Israel. Deut. 1:30, 31;Deut. 20:1.
4. God’s destruction of the earth by water was a warning to the wicked afterwards. 2Pet. 3:5, 6.
5. God will also destroy the devil and his renegade angels. Mat. 25:41.
6. God’s destruction of the wicked will be a permanent thing. They will cease to exist. Mat. 3:12; Ps. 104:35.
7. God will destroy this earth and even our immediate heavens. 2Pet. 3:10.
8. The ‘Lake of Fire’ is where all wicked will be destroyed and is the earth on fire. Rev. 20:14, 15.
9. God has no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. Eze. 18:31, 32.
10. God’s destruction will finally lead to a new heaven and a new earth where only righteous will reign. Rev. 21:1-5.
