Homosexuality and Marriage. Pt. 10.

On December 9, 2004, The Canadian Supreme Court counseled the government of Paul Martin, the present Prime Minister, that parliament has the right to redefine marriage to incorporate the union of any two individuals, regardless of gender.  This means that two men have the right to marry each other; so also two women can marry each other.  Should Bible believing Christians finally accede to this law should parliament follow through with legislation as they are determined to?

Dear Reader,

As far as I am concerned, Thursday, December 9, 2004, has been, and will always be a grossly dark day in the history of this lovely country.  Whenever human beings willingly transgress the commandments of God there can only be darkness and not light.

Just as the teaching of evolution can be traced in many of the evils of  our society, so will Canadians reap the world wind of evil consequences that will follow the rejection of God’s definition of marriage.  It is true that God has placed governments in all societies for the well being and preservation of society.  And it is equally true that God has commanded us to obey our governments in the Lord.  We find these injunctions inRomans 13:1, 2, 4.

However, when governments digress from the commandments of God and teach or coerce their citizens to obey their anti-God laws, that does not mean that Christians are to accept these laws in their lifestyle.  What then should be the Christian’s stance in Canada in light of this new, pending legislation?  First of all, a Christian must always be kind, loving, and courteous.  So while we may disagree with the government, we must always be respectful.  There is another thing we ought to do.  In Ezekiel we read, (Ezek 3:18 KJV) When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

This text tells us that we must in some way warn the erring individuals of their wrong course; what they do next is their choice, and we are not held responsible for their actions.

From the very beginning when God created this world He enshrined three activities that are to be with mankind until the end of the world.  These three activities are, first, perpetual recognition of the Seventh-day, the Sabbath, as the day of creation’s memorial; its a day to celebrate creation and honour God as Creator every week; secondly, to worship the Creator God and no other; and thirdly, to marry, whenever we do so, the opposite sex and no other.

It has been Satan’s aim to obliterate these three institutions from humanity in order to remove the image of God in man, to pervert the worship of the true God on earth, and to substitute a false day of worship for God’s appointed day.  By substituting a false day of worship man ceases to believe in God as the Creator; and instead he accepts evolution or paganism in its place.  This is exactly what we find today in our society.  When man chooses to worship God his way and not the Bible’s way, then man looses his Theo-centricity and becomes homocentric.  He worships himself and whatever else he deems worthy of worship.  This form of worship institutes all kinds of orgies and perversions in worship.  Man’s history of worship through out the ages has shown us this.  Finally, when man chooses to reject God’s gender choice for himself or herself to marry, and chooses instead his own gender (man to man or woman to woman) to marry, then he sows the seeds of self destruction, perversion and woe, not only among mankind, but also in all nature.

When man’s moral inhibitions are removed either by government or other wise, the demise of society next follows; as again, the history of nations has shown us.  This has been satan’s only purpose and goal, and he uses anyone and everyone who rejects the security of God’s Word, the Bible, to accomplish his evil ends.  But friends, I have good news.  This state of affairs will not last forever.  God is now giving the final warning to mankind to turn to Him in confession and repentance and live, or be forever lost.  I close with two texts from the Bible: the first is from Isaiah, (Isa 45:22 KJV) Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

And the second is from the Revelation, (Rev 22:11 KJV) He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. (Rev 22:12 KJV) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Man’s probationary time to repent of his sinful ways and accept God as His Saviour is soon to run out.  We have no time to be caught up with evil institutions and selfishness; let us turn to God now while we have life.  Tomorrow might be way too late!  May God grant us wisdom to do the right thing.  God bless.
