Sunday
Note: The word ‘Sunday’ does not occur in the Bible; however the phrase ‘first day’ does. We know both historically and biblical that this always referred to Sunday. In every case, biblically where the ‘first day’ or first day of the week is mentioned, it never referred to a day that was the ‘day for worship’, or the day set aside by God for worship. This distinction referred only to the seventh day of the week, called ‘the Sabbath,’ the official day of rest and worship as found in Genesis 2:1-3. Do a Bible search on the ‘first day of the week’ and you will see the true status of that day.
