    I am single.  Why can’t I have sex with a consenting individual?  Would God disapprove?  

Dear Reader,

        Greetings.  There are several good reasons outside of the Bible why one should not indulge in premarital sex.  However, from the Bible, here is what God says.  Sex is to be enjoyed only by married persons, with their own wives or husbands.  In (Heb 13:4 KJV) we read, Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.  In this text God tells us that sex is OK in marriage but those who indulge in sex outside of marriage are condemned by God and will be judged if they do not repent and stop their activity.  Here is another counsel from God, (1 Cor 6:9 KJV), Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (1 Cor 6:10 KJV) nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  

        These verses tell us that all practising homosexuals and those that are unfaithful to their spouses and those that indulge in sex outside of marriage will not receive eternal life.  So if one is active here one must stop one’s sexual activity until marriage; otherwise he or she will not enjoy the beauty of eternal life.  Sex is one of the elements that helps to enrich a marriage; it helps in keeping the couple happily united.  Sex only within marriage helps to preserve the health and well being of the human race.  When we indulge in promiscuous sex we run the risk of endangering with disease and death our children, our spouses and those with whom we are having an affair.  One of the purposes of God in making sex is to bond the married couple together, enabling them to set up a home in love, and establish it with well-adjusted offspring.  When society rejects this command of God it degenerates into an animalistic free for all society.  This type of behaviour brings in its wake, crime, vice, lustfulness, disease, and much pain and sorrow.  

         Studies have shown that the ancient nations were just as promiscuous as we are today, and that they suffered the same venereal diseases that we suffer with today.  It would be wise to learn from their experience.  There are several other places in the Bible where God condemns sex outside of marriage, the reason being that God places great value on sex and marriage as belonging specifically to each other.  I can assure you reader, that to follow God’s advice is the safest thing to do, and all who love the Lord will want to follow him even in this respect.
