The Heavenly Sanctuary

1.  The earthly sanctuary was built according to the divine blueprint, sugesting the existence of a heavenly one. Ex. 25:9, 40; Num. 8:4; 1Chron. 28:11, 12.

2.  In Hebrews we find that there is a heavenly sanctuary after which the earthly temple was built. Heb. 8:1, 2, 5; Heb. 9:11, 12, 23.

3.  The Lord’s Temple is in heaven where His throne is. Ps. 11:4.

4.  John saw the Temple of God in heaven. Rev. 3:12; 11:19; 15:5

5.  The angels with the seven last plagues come from the Temple in heaven. Rev. 14:17; 16:1.

6.  Isaiah had a vision of God in His Temple in heaven. Isa. 6:1

7. The Psalmist says that God see all from His Temple in heaven. Ps. 102:19.

8.  The sanctuary on earth in Israel was a replica of the heavenly. It was a worldly one. Heb. 9:1.

9.  The services of the earthly Temple were to teach the great plan of God’s salvation towards men. Heb. 8:5.

10.  The sanctuary was a symbol of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus for humanity. Ps. 77:13; John 14:6.
